About

I have been producing artworks for more than 40 years. My creative life began in the late Sixties when I was living in Ladbroke Grove and mixing with local artists and musicians. I became friends with Raja Ram and his band, Quintessence, a popular local rock-band with a ‘spiritual’ bias.

A few years later I moved to Mid-Wales with a small group of like-minded artists and their families. Here I was able to pursue my painting career and through my friend, Assheton Gorton, a well known production designer, began to get work on commercials and films. This allowed me to provide for my family and also gave me the opportunity to explore a range of painting styles and techniques.
In the early Nineties I started painting large banners for musical events, presented by my long standing friend, Raja Ram. During the time I had spent in the film industry I had learned to paint on a large scale and my interest in ancient civilisations and cultures enabled me to create banners for the dance floor. Also, I had become interested in fluorescent colours which can be viewed with black light in an otherwise dark environment.
I have spent much of the last 20 years travelling the world (Europe, Japan, South America, USA and Russia) decorating all sorts of venues. During that time I sold a number of paintings which are now in private collections and undertook commissions for costumes and CD covers.
At present I am concentrating on smaller work to show in gallery environments whilst still accepting commissions.
